Shreds and Patches of Virginia History
by Mildred Beatty Pierce, 1906
The book measures 8" x 6" and has 110 pages. The body of the text is set in Caslon. The book was printed on Roycroft water marked paper. Note the purplish swirled highlights on cover in the first picture. The endpapers inside the front and back covers have the same purplish swirled pattern and appear to be an attempt by the Roycroft to achieve a marbled paper. Additionally the book contains 24 pages of glossy paper with black & white photo illustrations of houses, churches, tombstones, etc. located in the Tidewater area of Virginia.
