Poems
by Eugenia Hamlin Merrill, 1932
This book measures 8" x 6" and has 12
pages. The book was string bound with heavy paper covers. This is another late
year vanity press printing and is not listed in McKenna.
Eugenia May Hamlin Merrill was born December 2, 1865 and was the daughter of
Henry Hamlin and his wife Hannah L. McCoy Hamlin. Henry Hamlin founded
the Hamlin Bank & Trust Company, was president of the First National Bank of
Port Allegany Railroad Company, the Logan, Newark and other gas companies, the
Fulton and Phoenix Gas Company of New York State, the Conklin Wagon Company of
Olean, and the Great Southern Lumber Company. He was president of the Buckeye
Gas Company of Cincinnati, and a trustee of the Fidelity Trust & Guarantee
Company of Buffalo and the Minona Mining Company of Colorado. Eugenia May Hamlin
was also the wife of Howard E. Merrill, a leading nurseryman of Geneva, New
York. From what I can find Eugenia May died sometime in 1944.
