The Mintage
Being Ten Stories and One More
by Elbert Hubbard, 1910
This book measures 7 1/4" x 4 7/8" and
has 132 pages. The text body is Scotch Roman printed on Roycroft handmade or
Japan Vellum. The regular edition of this book was bound in various manners
including; paper over boards
with a paper label, Alicia and full suede. The 3/4 Levant edition shown above is
not listed by McKenna. there was also an edition bound in modeled leather. After about 1907,
the 3/4 Levant titles in limited editions began to disappear, but 3/4 bindings
still existed. Here is The Mintage, printed on Japan Vellum, bound in 3/4
Levant with marbled boards. No limitation statement.
The title page, text initials and tailpieces were designed by
Dard Hunter.
