Consecrated Lives
by Elbert Hubbard, 1904
The book measures 8 1/2" x 6 7/8" and has 101 pages. The body of the text is McFarland series, Inland Type Foundry. The regular edition was bound in suede or paper over boards and printed on Dickinson paper. A limited edition of 100 depicted above, was bound in 3/4 leather and printed on Japan Vellum. The book includes a photogravure of the Roycroft Chapel shown above. What particularly interested me in this book were the 12 additional signatures of various Roycrofters. Charles J. "Cy" Rosen was the superintendent of the bindery from 1896 until approximately 1912. He returned to the Roycroft Bindery in 1915 at the behest of Elbert Hubbard II and was the superintendent until 1935.
